Stevenson will return next season

Guard DeShawn Stevenson will return to the Mavericks next season after exercising his player option to do so last week, his agent Mark Bartelstein said Monday ... Bartelstein said it was the right move for Stevenson after considering the free agent market this summer and after playing limited minutes for Dallas last season. Stevenson, 29, arrived in the same trade with Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood in February. He averaged 2.0 points and 11.1 minutes once joining the Mavs from Washington ...

OK, let's get this straight. The San Antonio Spurs beat the Mavericks in six games in the first round of the NBA playoffs and Gregg Popovich is the greatest basketball mind in history and Rick Carlisle is an idiot ... So now, the Spurs are down 3-0 to the Phoenix Suns and we know now that Alvin Gentry is a mastermind and Popovich is an idiot ... Right? ... Anybody? ... Couldn't help but notice that in Game 1 of the Spurs-Suns series last night/early this morning (thanks again, TNT), George Hill was 0-for-5 from 3-point range.
